The AHA’s Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Online Part 1 Course is a blended learning course that contains information on how to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This course provides a one-stop shop for pediatric first aid, CPR and AED training needs for child care providers. You will learn:

• The Four Steps of First Aid (Prevent, Be Safe, Phone 911, Act)
  • Illnesses and injuries (topics include but are not limited to)
    • Allergic Reactions
    • Asthma
    • Bleeding and Bandaging
    • Diabetes and Low Blood Sugar
    • Drowning
    • Dehydration
    • Head, Neck, and Spine Injuries
    • Seizure
    • Temperature-Related Issues
  • Child and infant safety checklist
• CPR, AED and choking
  • CPR for infants
  • CPR and AED for children
  • CPR and AED for adults (optional)

• Includes online access to portions of the Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Student Workbook
• Features a transcript option to help meet diverse learning needs
• Includes several AHA resources to aid in learning, such as skills summary sheets, job aids (action plans, checklists and informational sheets) and videos
• Students have access to all information in the online course for 24 months, following activation of their course key
• Certificate of completion available to print when Part 1 has been completed successfully

Once you begin the course, you’ll have access to the online lessons, videos, manuals and resources for two years! And you can start and stop the course at your convenience until you have finished it at your own pace.

Successful completion of the full Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course includes three parts:

• Part 1, Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED online course
• Part 2, a hands-on skills practice session with an authorized AHA Instructor within 60 days
• Part 3, a hands-on skills testwith an authorized AHA Instructor within 60 days

If you are choosing to do the skills session with SAFETY NJ, you will receive instructions to register upon checking out.

After you successfully complete all three parts, you will receive an AHA Pediatric Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course completion card, valid for two years. Skills sessions (Parts 2-3) are sold separately and must be completed within 60 days of completing the online Part 1.
